About the Role
Are you a commercially minded finance leader who enjoys turning complex data into clear insight? PRL Group is looking for an experienced Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A;) Manager to lead our management reporting, budgeting, forecasting and analytics function across a diverse, multi-entity group. Tasked with building the FP&A; function around a growing mining and fertiliser business, this permanent, full-time role is based in West Perth and leads a small, growing team with a genuine AI-enabled analytics mandate.
Key Responsibilities
This is a hands-on leadership role where you will support and partner closely with the Group CFO, Financial Controller and operational leaders to deliver meaningful reporting, improve forecasting, identify cost and efficiency opportunities, and support better decision-making across the business.
- Leading monthly management reporting, dashboards, KPIs and performance commentary across Australian entities;
- Budgeting, rolling forecasting, scenario modelling and long-range planning processes;
- Leading and developing a small team, including a Finance Business Partner and AI Data Analyst, setting priorities,
overseeing delivery and determining how FP&A; team resources are allocated across the Group’s entities;
- Driving cost analysis, variance reporting and efficiency opportunity tracking;
- Directing AI-enabled analytics, reporting automation and dashboard delivery through the AI Data Analyst, including improving the quality, structure and governance of finance data for AI application;
- Supporting the evaluation of capital expenditure and investment decisions, including business cases, financial modelling and post-implementation reviews;
- Partnership with business leaders across subsidiaries and functions to interpret performance and support decision-making;
- Supporting Board, Executive and committee reporting through transparent analysis and commercial recommendations; and
- Overseeing reporting data integrity, structures and master data definitions within Pronto Xi and related systems.
About You
You will step into a visible Group finance role with the opportunity to shape reporting, analytics and FP&A; capability and lead the Group’s adoption of AI-enabled reporting. You will work closely with senior leaders, influence business performance, and contribute to practical improvements across cost control, forecasting and management insight.
We are looking for someone who is and has:
- A degree in Commerce, Accounting, Finance, Economics or a related field.
- CA,
CPA or CIMA qualification, or equivalent.
- At least 7 years’ experience in management accounting, FP&A; or a similar finance role.
- Experience leading people and building reporting, analysis or business partnering capability.
- Strong budgeting, forecasting, financial modelling and commercial analysis skills.
- Experience with BI and AI-enabled reporting tools (e.g. Power BI) and an interest in applying AI to reporting and analysis.
- Experience in a multi-entity group or listed environment would be highly regarded.
- Experience with ERP systems would be an advantage (Pronto Xi highly regarded).
- The ability to communicate clearly, influence stakeholders and translate numbers into practical business insight.
- Willingness to undertake occasional travel to Christmas Island, Ardmore and Malaysia as required.
