We are seeking an experienced Senior Contracts Administrator to support the effective delivery of project contract and commercial activities across both pre-contract and post-contract phases. Working closely with the Project Manager, Contracts Manager, Construction Managers, engineers, and project delivery teams, you will play a key role in administering multiple contract packages, supporting tendering and procurement activities, and managing contractor commercial obligations throughout project execution.
This role is ideally suited to a candidate with significant experience working in a Design & Construct (D&C;), Construction Management (CM), EPCM, or major project delivery environment, where multiple subcontractors and work packages are managed concurrently to achieve project outcomes.
About the Role
- Prepare, administer, and manage multiple contract packages across pre- and post-contract phases.
- Draft RFT and RFP documentation and review tender pack documents.
- Facilitate contractor prequalification and pre-tender compliance activities.
- Assist with Bill of Quantities (BOQ) establishment and package development.
- Maintain contract schedules, tenderer registers, package registers, and commercial tracking tools.
- Set up contract folders and support subcontract progress claims administration.
- Prepare and assess subcontract variations, progress claims, payment schedules, and commercial documentation.
- Update variation registers and ensure accurate contract data, reporting, and forecasting.
- Monitor and manage contractor compliance requirements including insurances, mobilisation plans, management plans, licences, and statutory obligations.
- Support subcontract and supplier negotiations and contribute to commercial decision-making.
- Contribute to scopes of work, contract conditions, package execution strategies, and assist with contract dispute resolution.
- Work closely with construction, engineering, and project delivery teams to monitor contractor performance and support project milestones.
- Provide monthly contractual reporting updates and ongoing commercial support to project leadership.
- Liaise with document control to ensure accurate record keeping and data integrity across all contract packages.
About You
- 10-15 years' experience in Contracts Administration, Contract Management, Commercial Management, or Project Delivery within major construction, mining, resources, energy, or infrastructure projects.
- Demonstrated experience working within a Design & Construct (D&C;), Construction Management (CM), EPCM, or similar project delivery environment.
- Proven experience managing multiple concurrent subcontract and supplier packages through procurement, execution, administration, and close-out phases.
- Strong contractor management experience, including contractor engagement, performance monitoring, commercial administration, compliance, variations, claims, and close-out activities.
- Experience working directly with Construction Managers, Project Managers, site leadership teams, and contractors during project execution.
- Demonstrated experience administering subcontractor progress claims, payment schedules, variations, extension of time claims, and commercial correspondence.
- Exposure to tender preparation, bid evaluation, contract award processes, and commercial negotiations.
- Practical understanding of construction methodologies, contractor interfaces, package management,
and project delivery requirements.
- Experience managing both head contracts and subcontracts within large-scale project environments will be highly regarded.
- Tertiary qualification in Business, Engineering, Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Commerce, or a related discipline.
- Quantity Surveying (QS) background desirable but not essential.
- Construction White Card required.
- Strong commercial acumen with high attention to detail.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and negotiation skills.
- Highly effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and work packages simultaneously.
- Demonstrated ability to build robust relationships with contractors, suppliers, clients, and project stakeholders.
- Ability to work collaboratively across commercial, construction, engineering, and project delivery teams.
