Monash Health is seeking a Manual Handling Coordinator to support the development, delivery and continuous improvement of its manual handling program. Working within the Health, Safety and Wellbeing Team, the role will coordinate training, provide practical advice on hazardous manual handling and equipment, and collaborate with key stakeholders to reduce musculoskeletal injury risks across clinical and non-clinical areas. About the Department / Program

The Health, Safety and Wellbeing Team supports a safe, healthy and sustainable working environment across Monash Health. The Manual Handling (Move Smart) Program partners with clinical and non-clinical teams to reduce musculoskeletal injury risks through practical training, specialist advice, risk assessment and guidance on safe work practices and equipment, while supporting continuous improvement across the organisation.

About the Role

Join our team as a Manual Handling Coordinator on a full-time basis, working across Monash Health hospitals and clinics. In this role, you will work under the leadership of the Manual Handling Program Team Leader and collaborate with the broader Health, Safety and Wellbeing Team and stakeholders across Monash Health. You will:

- Coordinate, deliver and continuously improve manual handling training for clinical and non-clinical employees;

- Provide practical advice on hazardous manual handling, risk controls, safe work practices and equipment;

- Support managers to identify manual handling risks and implement effective improvement strategies;

- Evaluate program effectiveness and contribute to relevant policies,



procedures and equipment planning.

This role requires travel between Monash Health campuses and work across alternative locations as required.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will bring the following demonstrated skills, experience, and attributes:

- Demonstrated experience in training facilitation, including group instruction and individual coaching;

- Strong planning and organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively;

- Proven ability in relationship building and influencing stakeholders across various levels;

- Excellent oral and written communication skills;

- Practical experience in conducting manual handling risk assessments;

- Well-developed computer literacy, including proficiency in Microsoft 365 and relevant health systems.

An ideal candidate will have the following qualifications, registrations and licences:

- Tertiary qualification in a health-related discipline (e.g. Nursing, Allied Health, Health Science);

- Current and valid driver's licence;

- Experience working in a clinical or allied health setting, preferably within a hospital environment;

- Qualifications in Occupational Health and Safety or a related field (desirable).
