The Ainslie Group has been in Canberra since 1927, and we are proud to have grown into leaders of the Canberra Community through our support of AFL, golf, and hospitability services. We have a well-established, and continually growing, team of over 175 staff and 45,000 members across both our Gungahlin and Ainslie clubs, some of which have been with us for more than 30 years!
As a well-recognised and reputable Club Group in the ACT, the Ainslie Group has received a variety of awards for our contribution to the local community. Most recently we were highly commended by Clubs ACT for our Contribution to Sports and Inclusion.
We are currently seeking new team members as Kitchen Attendants to join our kitchen brigade at both the venues - Ainslie Football and Social Club, and Gungahlin Lakes Golf & Community Club . We are looking for team members who are self-starters and thrive in the exciting and fast-paced kitchen environment to join our experienced and hard-working team on a casual basis.
This remuneration for this role is as per the Registered and Licensed Clubs Award 2020.
About the role
The key objective of the Kitchen Attendant position is to work as part of the team to ensure the efficient and smooth operation of the kitchen through the performance of tasks such as cleaning and basic food preparation. The Kitchen Attendant is responsible for ensuring the cleanliness of the kitchen and all food storage areas is maintained.
Key responsibilities
- Appropriately washes all cutlery, crockery, pots/pans etc. in a timely manner, utilising the commercial dishwasher and returning items to their correct place.
- Ensure the kitchen is clean and free from all hazards at the end of service,
including the removal of all rubbish and cleaning of all surfaces including floors and walls.
- Always maintain the cleanliness of the kitchen and all food service storage areas.
- Assist in the preparation of food, in accordance with restaurant guidelines, where required.
- Ensure proper hygienic storage methods are followed to prevent food loss.
- Report any required maintenance of kitchen equipment to the Head Chef/Sous Chef, as required.
- Assist with the ongoing support of positive team morale and culture.
- Any other duties, as directed by Management.
