We are seeking experienced Support Needs Assessors to conduct high-quality, evidence-based assessments for people with disability. This role requires strong clinical judgement, clear communication and the ability to assess complex information while maintaining a respectful, trauma-informed and person-centred approach.

The opportunity

- Initial contract until 31 December 2026, with highly likely long-term extension
- $61.86 per hour + super - Full time hours Mon-Fri (7.5hr days)
- Hybrid working arrangement
- Meaningful role supporting fair, consistent and accessible participant outcomes
- Eligibility: Australian Citizenship required
- Closes: Tuesday 15th September

LOCATIONS:

Highly favoured VIC locations: Traralgon, Footscray and Shepparton

All locations: Bendigo, Traralgon, Broadmeadows, Dandenong, Footscray, Geelong, Werribee, Shepparton Wendouree, Hobart and Launceston.

Key responsibilities:

- Conduct support needs assessments with participants and their representatives
- Gather, analyse and interpret participant information and external evidence
- Prepare clear, accurate and defensible written assessment reports
- Apply relevant legislation, policies and procedures using sound professional judgement
- Explain assessment processes and outcomes through virtual and face-to-face engagement
- Identify and escalate complex, high-risk or policy-related matters
- Work collaboratively with internal teams to support coordinated planning outcomes
- Maintain accurate and secure information across digital case management systems
- Mentor colleagues and contribute to continuous service improvement

ABOUT YOU:
You will bring experience administering support needs assessments or similar person-centred assessment frameworks.



You will be confident discussing complex or sensitive matters and able to create a culturally and psychologically safe environment for participants.

You will also demonstrate:

- Strong assessment, interviewing and evidence interpretation skills
- Experience working with people with disability and applying strengths-based approaches
- Sound judgement when making evidence-based decisions and managing risk
- Clear written communication and report-writing capability
- Knowledge of privacy, confidentiality and ethical practice requirements
- An understanding of the NDIS Act, Rules and operational guidelines, or the ability to quickly develop this knowledge
- Experience using CRM, case management or similar digital systems
- The ability to manage competing priorities and deliver work within operational timeframes
- Flexibility to undertake scheduled in-person participant assessments

HIGHLY DESIRABLE:

- Experience administering support needs assessments or other person-centred assessment frameworks.
* Accreditation or experience using the I-CAN Support Needs Assessment Tool is highly regarded.

QUALIFICATIONS:
A recognised tertiary qualification in a relevant discipline is mandatory, such as:

- Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy or Speech Pathology
- Social Work, Counselling or Psychotherapy
- Dietetics, Exercise Physiology or Rehabilitation Counselling
- Registered or Enrolled Nursing
- Education
- NDIS Behaviour Support Practice or another relevant health discipline
