Job Description
Minor Hotels is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Property Accountant to join our Finance team. Based in either our Brisbane or Maroochydore office , this role is responsible for managing the financial reporting and performance of a portfolio of properties. Working closely with Hotel General Managers and operational leaders, you will provide valuable financial insights, support commercial decision-making, drive business performance, and act as a trusted finance partner across the portfolio.

Key Responsibilities Include:
n
n
- Prepare monthly financial reports accurately and within reporting deadlines
n
- Complete monthly Profit & Loss reporting and variance analysis
n
- Prepare monthly forecasts, annual budgets and cashflow analysis for your portfolio of properties
n
- Perform daily and monthly revenue, balance sheet and bank reconciliations
n
- Review financial performance with Hotel General Managers, Property Owners and Finance Leadership
n
- Provide financial advice and commercial support to operational leaders
n
- Assist General Managers in identifying cost drivers and opportunities for improved profitability
n
- Analyse business performance and provide actionable recommendations
n
- Take ownership of the finance function for an allocated portfolio of properties
n
- Identify and implement process improvements and efficiencies
n
- Ensure financial controls, compliance requirements and reporting obligations are maintained
n
n
Communication & Stakeholder Management
n
n
- Develop strong working relationships with Hotel General Managers and operational teams
n
- Partner with stakeholders to support business performance and financial outcomes
n
- Communicate confidently and professionally with hotel owners and external stakeholders
n
- Participate actively in meetings and provide meaningful financial insights
n
- Foster open, honest and collaborative communication across the business
n
n
To be successful in this role you will have:
n
n
- Bachelor of Accounting, Commerce or a related discipline
n
- Previous experience as a Property Accountant, Hotel Financial Controller or similar finance role
n
- Strong financial reporting, forecasting and budgeting experience
n
- Exceptional attention to detail and analytical capability
n
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
n
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
n
- Advanced problem-solving and process improvement mindset
n
- High level of professionalism, integrity and confidentiality
n
- Experience within the hospitality industry will be highly regarded
n
- Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel skills
n
