Our client is a Tier 1 developer of major commercial, public, and industrial projects. With a multi-billion-dollar pipeline of projects, they are now looking to welcome an experience lawyer to join their established Legal team as a Senior Legal Counsel. Sitting out of their Perth office, this role will require daily engagement with the executive team.

The Legal Team

n

This role will see you report into the General Counsel while working closely with a high calibre legal and commercial team.

Key responsibilities will include:

n

- Reviewing and advising on the terms of construction contracts at tender stage including D&C;, O&M;, EPC, GC21 and ECI agreements.
n
- Lead or support the legal aspects of project procurement and tendering processes, including preparation and review of tender documentation, RFPs, expressions of interest, and evaluation of contractor and consultant submissions.

- Advise on risk allocation, liability regimes, security, warranties, defects liability, liquidated damages, insurance, and other key commercial and legal terms in construction contracts from a developer's perspective.

- Support the structuring and documentation of joint venture, consortium, and collaboration arrangements with other developers, contractors, or project partners.

- Work closely with internal project,



development, commercial, and procurement teams to ensure contracts and procurement strategies align with the company's commercial objectives, risk appetite, and project delivery requirements.

- Advise on planning, development approval, and related statutory and regulatory issues as they intersect with project contracting and procurement.
n
- Reviewing and advising on contracts across corporate - HR and IT.
n
- Coordinate and oversee external legal counsel.
n
- Assist with regulatory compliance matters, including environmental and planning issues.
n
- Providing proactive advice on legal and commercial issues and managing contractual risks to minimise disputes.

Ideal Candidate

n

n
- For Legal Counsel 8 + years PQE with projects and construction experience.
n
- Solid technical construction law skill set encompassing contract drafting, negotiation, and advisory work.
n
- Proven ability to manage complex, multi-party transactions with a commercial and solutions-focused mindset.
n
- A collaborative and proactive approach, thriving in a lean and high-performing team.
