Leading Hand - Steel Fixing & Post Tensioning

As a Leading Hand, you will work closely with site management and supervisors to coordinate daily works, lead crews and ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently and to a high standard. You will be involved in steel fixing and post-tensioning works across major civil, infrastructure and CBD construction projects.

Key responsibilities

n

- Lead and coordinate steel fixing and post-tensioning crews on site
n
- Set out and interpret structural drawings and reinforcement details
n
- Coordinate daily labour, materials, tools and equipment
n
- Ensure steel fixing and post-tensioning works are completed accurately and to specification
n
- Work closely with builders, engineers, supervisors and other trades
n
- Maintain high standards of safety, quality and productivity
n
- Identify and resolve site issues before they impact progress
n
- Mentor and support tradespeople and apprentices within the crew
n
- Maintain a clean, organised and safe work environment
n

About you

n

Proven experience as a Leading Hand, Senior Steel Fixer or Foreman

n

Strong hands-on experience in steel fixing

n





Experience with post-tensioning works highly regarded

n

Ability to read and interpret structural drawings and reinforcement plans

n

Previous experience leading a crew on civil, commercial or high-rise projects

n

Robust understanding of construction sequencing and site coordination

n

Strong commitment to safety and quality

n

Excellent communication and leadership skills

n

Ability to work effectively with site management, engineers and other trades

n

White Card and relevant construction tickets

n

Major civil, infrastructure and CBD projects

n

Work across multiple sites and high-profile construction projects

n
