KS Technology Pty Ltd delivers NBN network construction, connection and maintenance services. We are seeking an experienced Telecommunications Field Engineer to plan, commission and monitor NBN network infrastructure and field equipment, resolve complex network faults, and provide technical support across our FTTP, FTTC, FTTN and HFC connection and maintenance works.

Duties

- Plan, design, commission and monitor NBN telecommunications network infrastructure and associated field equipment, including FTTP, FTTC, FTTN and HFC connections
- Configure and integrate NBN network equipment and technology with computer software, hardware, network terminal devices and operating systems
- Install, test and commission NBN customer connections and network terminal devices at residential and commercial premises in accordance with NBN Co technical specifications and industry standards
- Interpret NBN network schematics, desktop designs and work orders to determine scope of works and installation requirements
- Diagnose and rectify malfunctions, defects and performance faults across copper, fibre and HFC network infrastructure
- Identify complex technical problems encountered in the field (e.g. pit and pipe access issues, cable faults, signal degradation) and initiate appropriate corrective action
- Provide technical advice and information to customers, contractors and internal teams regarding NBN network performance, connection status and equipment operation
- Monitor and evaluate the ongoing performance of NBN network infrastructure and equipment, recommending remediation where required




- Develop and maintain logs and records of completed works, equipment, parts, inventories and job status in line with NBN Co reporting requirements
- Maintain documentation of communication policies, procedures, guidelines, regulations and quality standards relevant to NBN field operations
- Liaise with NBN Co, delivery partners, suppliers and other stakeholders regarding technical matters, contractual obligations and delivery timeframes
- Update as-built drawings and field records following installation, connection and remediation works
- Ensure all field work is carried out in compliance with NBN Co technical standards, telecommunications industry regulations, and workplace health and safety requirements

Selection Criteria

- Relevant qualification in telecommunications engineering, electronics or a related field (Diploma level or higher), and/or substantial relevant field experience
- Demonstrated experience installing, commissioning and troubleshooting NBN or telecommunications network infrastructure (fibre, copper and/or HFC)
- Sound understanding of NBN network architecture, connection types and technical standards
- Robust analytical and fault-diagnosis skills
- Ability to read and interpret network schematics, desktop designs and technical drawings
- Good communication skills, with the ability to liaise with customers, delivery partners and internal teams
- Current driver's licence and willingness to travel to different sites as required
