About the Role:
PLC Sydney is seeking a dynamic, compassionate leader to join our Executive team as Head of Positive Student Care and Engagement.
This pivotal leadership role guides the College's holistic student well-being strategy, fosters an inclusive, restorative school culture, and collaborates closely with Heads of Year and Chaplains to ensure girls flourish.
The successful candidate will also teach one class, maintaining an active teaching presence within our learning community.
Key Responsibilities:
- Strategic Pastoral Leadership: Provides executive leadership in student well-being, embedding evidence-based pastoral strategies. Demonstrates transparent leadership,
upholds core standards of student dress and behaviour, and fosters positive engagement across the school community.
- Team Leadership: Leading the Heads of Year and 'Morning Connections Coaches'.
- Data-Driven Tracking & Program Innovation: Analyses academic, attendance, and survey data to track student progress and direct targeted support. Designs, coordinates, and evaluates pastoral Home Room programs that build student agency and academic resilience.
- Restorative Engagement & Student Support: Oversees student relations with a focus on community restoration, managing complex issues, leading with a values-based framework, and communicating transparently with parents. Provides direct mentorship, collaborating with Chaplains to ensure comprehensive student growth and safety.
Selection Criteria:
- Interpersonal & Communication Excellence: Demonstrates exceptional written and oral communication, strong teamwork skills, and the emotional intelligence to navigate difficult student, staff, and parent issues respectfully and effectively.
- Technical & Administrative Proficiency: Possesses robust administrative skills with demonstrated proficiency in using spreadsheets and documents (including Google Workspace) to support operational tasks.
- Self-Management & Operational Efficiency: Exhibits outstanding organisational skills to work independently, prioritise competing demands, and manage high-volume workloads to meet strict deadlines.
- Compliance & Accreditation: Must hold active NESA accreditation and provide a valid Working With Children Check clearance prior to employment.
You will be required to support the Christian ethos of the College.
