We are currently recruiting Tenancy Officers for Churches of Christ, a purpose-driven organisation supporting individuals, families and communities across more than 100 locations throughout Queensland and Victoria.
n
The Role
n
We're seeking experienced Tenancy Officers to join the Housing Programs teams in Ipswich and Kenmore.
n
Reporting to the Housing Coordinator, you'll manage a small tenancy portfolio and play an important role in supporting tenants, maintaining quality housing outcomes and ensuring properties and tenancies are effectively managed.
n
You'll work closely with tenants, internal teams and external stakeholders to provide a skilled, responsive and person-centred service.
n
Key Responsibilities
n
n
- Manage day-to-day tenancy and property matters, including allocations, rent, eligibility assessments and tenancy issues.
n
- Build positive and respectful relationships with tenants and provide responsive customer service.
n
- Conduct property inspections and coordinate maintenance to help maintain safe, quality homes.
n
- Monitor rent, bonds, repayments and tenancy information, identifying and addressing emerging issues.
n
- Assist with minimising rental loss and supporting sustainable tenancies.
n
- Maintain accurate tenancy and property records in accordance with organisational policies and legislation.
n
- Support tenant participation, engagement and feedback initiatives.
n
- Ensure all tenancy activities comply with relevant legislation, policies and procedures.
n
- Work collaboratively with colleagues and contribute to continuous improvement across housing services.
n
- Represent the mission, vision and values of Churches of Christ in all interactions.
n

About You
n
You'll be a confident and compassionate housing professional who enjoys working with people and is committed to achieving positive outcomes for tenants.
n
You Will Ideally Have
n
n
- Certificate IV in Social Housing or a similar qualification, or relevant experience in housing or community services.
n
- Approximately three years' experience in tenancy management or a related service environment.
n
- An understanding of housing legislation, tenancy management and compliance requirements.
n
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trust and rapport.
n
- Excellent organisation, problem-solving and decision-making skills.
n
- Confidence using Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint.
n
- A commitment to quality service, workplace safety and continuous improvement.
n
- The ability to work collaboratively as part of a supportive team.
n
- Alignment with the mission, vision and values of Churches of Christ.
n

Desirable
n
Knowledge of the Residential Tenancies and Rooming Accommodation Act 2008.
n
Mandatory Checks

- National Police Check (or ability to obtain)

- Working with Children Blue Card (or ability to obtain)

- NDIS Worker Screening Check, where applicable
