Clinical Nurse Specialist – Mental Health | Acute Paediatric Unit

Northwest Tasmania | Permanent, Full Time | Up to 76 hours per fortnight

Salary: $109,767 – $115,813 + 12% superannuation

About the role
n
You'll provide specialist mental health nursing care to paediatric consumers admitted to the unit, supporting children and young people experiencing acute mental health challenges.
n
Your responsibilities will include:
n
n
- Providing comprehensive biopsychosocial assessments and acute inpatient mental health care coordination.
n
- Building therapeutic relationships with children, young people and their families and carers.
n
- Monitoring and reviewing mental state and responses to treatment.
n
- Providing psychotherapeutic interventions using a range of appropriate modalities and techniques.
n
- Working collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team, with a strong focus on family and carer engagement.
n
- Delivering trauma-informed, person-centred and recovery-oriented care in line with relevant standards, legislation, policies and professional competencies.
n
- Providing clinical leadership, knowledge and expertise to promote high standards of care and best practice.
n
- Supporting the Nurse Unit Manager and Consultant Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist with the coordination and management of resources as required.
n
- Contributing to a positive, collaborative and supportive clinical environment.
n
n
About you
n
You're an experienced and compassionate Registered Nurse who brings strong clinical skills, sound professional judgement and a genuine commitment to improving mental health outcomes for children and young people.
n
You'll have:
n
n
- Registration with theNursing and Midwifery Board of Australiaas a Registered Nurse.
n
- CurrentWorking with Children Registration.
n
- Experience and/or training in paediatric mental health.
n
- A commitment to trauma-informed, family-focused and evidence-based care.
n
- Strong communication and multidisciplinary teamwork skills.
n
n
Desirable:
n
n
- Relevant postgraduate qualifications, or a commitment to working towards them.
n
- Previous experience in a clinical leadership role.
n
n
