We are seeking a highly capable Senior Payroll Officer to join our team on a short-term contract basis to provide temporary cover during a busy period. About the Role

n

Reporting to the Payroll Manager, you will play a key role in ensuring the accurate and timely processing of payroll while providing guidance and support to a team of Payroll Officers. Working within a fast-paced environment, you will utilise your payroll expertise to resolve complex payroll matters and ensure compliance with relevant legislation, awards and enterprise agreements.

Key Responsibilities

n

- Process end-to-end payroll accurately and within strict deadlines
n
- Provide day-to-day supervision and support to Payroll Officers
n
- Investigate and resolve payroll queries and discrepancies.
n
- Interpret and apply industrial awards, enterprise agreements and payroll legislation
n
- Ensure payroll compliance and maintain accurate employee records.
n
- Assist with payroll reporting, reconciliations and continuous improvement initiatives
n
- Support payroll projects and system enhancements as required
n

About You

n





To be successful in this role, you will possess:

n

n
- Demonstrated experience in payroll processing
n
- Previous experience supervising or leading Payroll Officers
n
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
n
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy
n
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise competing deadlines
n
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills
n
- Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook
n
- Sound experience interpreting industrial awards, enterprise agreements and payroll-related legislation
n
