Make a meaningful difference with us
UnitingCare is seeking an experienced leader to establish and operationalise our new Enterprise Portfolio Governance Office.
Reporting to the Group Executive, Strategy, Improvement and Corporate Affairs, this senior role will translate a new operating model into practical ways of working that strengthen investment decisions, project governance, benefits realisation and portfolio reporting.
This is a rare opportunity for an accomplished portfolio leader to shape and establish a critical enterprise capability, turning an endorsed vision into practical ways of working that deliver lasting organisational value. You will build the foundations of the function, establish trusted relationships across the organisation and lead the change required to embed more consistent and effective portfolio governance.
This role will suit an experienced enterprise portfolio, investment governance or EPMO leader with a strong track record of establishing or materially uplifting portfolio capability with a complex organisation. You will be a leader who enjoys moving quickly, bringing clarity to complex environments and partnering with executives to turn agreed strategy into practical governance, reporting and decision-making rhythms.
Please note, this is a 6-month fixed-term contract based within our Corporate team in Brisbane City.
Your part in our UnitingCare team:
- Establish and operationalise UnitingCare's Enterprise Portfolio Governance Office, translating the endorsed operating model into practical governance, processes, tools, decision rights and ways of working.
- Create a single enterprise view of strategic investments and project performance, providing clear insights on progress, risks, dependencies, delivery confidence, benefits and decisions required.
- Implement proportionate portfolio,
investment and assurance disciplines that strengthen business cases, prioritisation, stage gates, benefits realisation and project closure without creating unnecessary administrative burden.
- Partner with executives, sponsors and leaders across Hospitals, BlueCare, Family and Disability Services, including Lifeline Queensland, and corporate functions to strengthen delivery discipline and support initiatives requiring intervention.
- Provide concise, decision-focused portfolio reporting and independent, respectful challenge to the Executive Leadership Team, Board and relevant governance forums.
- Lead the change, stakeholder engagement and capability uplift required to embed the recent model and establish a sustainable long-term enterprise portfolio governance capability.
What makes a difference for us?
- Significant experience establishing or uplifting an enterprise portfolio, EPMO or investment governance function within a complex organisation.
- Proven success translating an endorsed operating model into practical ways of working and embedding organisation-wide adoption.
- Strong expertise in portfolio and investment governance, benefits realisation, assurance and executive reporting.
- Exceptional people leadership and relationship-building skills, with the confidence to influence executives and provide constructive challenge.
- Strong commercial judgement and the ability to balance governance discipline with practical business needs.
- Relevant tertiary qualifications and portfolio, project, governance or change credentials.
- Nationally Coordinated Police Check
- Right to Work in Australia
