The opportunity
n
82 Degrees North is seeking a Cloud Support Officer to join a Commonwealth Government agency working within a modern cloud and data environment.
n
You'll join a multidisciplinary Product Operations Team, supporting the day-to-day operation of cloud-based data products and services used across the agency.
n
This is a hands‐on support role suited to someone with experience across AWS, cloud applications, incident management and user support who wants to continue developing their technical capability in a highly engaging government environment.
n
You'll work alongside product managers, engineers, architects and other technical specialists to help keep cloud data products secure,
reliable and available to users.
n
What you will be doing
n
n
- Provide first-level support for cloud-based data products and services
n
- Receive, analyse, triage and resolve user support requests
n
- Monitor cloud services and investigate operational issues and incidents
n
- Troubleshoot cloud applications and elevate complex technical issues where required
n
- Support the implementation and maintenance of cloud security controls and governance requirements
n
- Develop and maintain SOPs, operational documentation and knowledge articles
n
- Work with engineers, product managers and technical specialists to resolve issues and improve services
n
- Contribute to continuous improvement of cloud products, operational processes and user experience
n
- Participate in an agile, multidisciplinary product environment
n
n
What we are looking for
n
n
- 3+ years' experience supporting cloud-based applications, data products or services in a complex enterprise setting
n
- Practical experience with AWS environments and services
n
- Experience with incident management, troubleshooting and technical user support
n
- AWS Cloud Practitioner training/certification or another relevant foundational AWS qualification
n
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
n
- Experience working with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
n
- Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-moving operational environment
n
- Experience working within agile or multidisciplinary technology teams
n
n
Experience within Australian Government, Defence, National Security or other security-conscious enterprise environments would be highly regarded.
n
Security Clearance
n
An active AGSVA Security Clearance will be required for this role. Candidates without an active clearance will not be considered for this role.
n

Contract Details

- Location: Barton, Canberra ACT

- Working arrangement: Primarily onsite, with flexibility potentially considered subject to operational requirements (no working from home arrangements should be expected with this engagement)

- Hours: Up to 37.5 hours per week
n
- Initial term: 12 months
n
- Extension: Up to 6 months
n
- Expected commencement: November 2026
n
- Clearance: Active Baseline or higher
n

Rate
n
We expect this role to pay approximately $85.00/hr which is an attractive package for a SFIA 2 position.
