About the Opportunity

n

We are seeking an ambitious and commercially minded Senior Accountant to join our growing professional services business in Perth CBD.

n

This is more than a traditional Senior Accountant position. We are looking for someone who wants to build a long-term career within the business, with a genuine pathway toward management responsibility and potential equity participation for the right person.

n

You will work closely with senior leadership and have the opportunity to take ownership of clients, develop your commercial skills and contribute to the continued growth of the business.

n

The successful candidate will be technically strong, commercially aware and motivated to progress beyond a purely technical accounting role.

n

The Role

n

Your responsibilities will include:

n

n
- Managing a portfolio of clients and providing high-quality accounting and advisory services.
n
- Preparing and reviewing financial statements, management accounts and tax returns.
n
- Preparing and reviewing business and individual tax returns.
n
- Providing taxation and accounting advice to clients.
n
- Assisting clients with business structures, budgeting, forecasting and cash-flow management.
n
- Reviewing work prepared by junior accountants and providing technical guidance.
n
- Supporting and mentoring junior team members.
n
- Managing client relationships and being a trusted point of contact.
n
- Identifying opportunities to improve client outcomes and grow the firm's services.
n




- Assisting with business development and new client opportunities.
n
- Working closely with senior management on strategic and operational matters.
n
- Contributing to systems, processes and continuous improvement across the business.
n
- Taking increasing responsibility for team leadership and management as the role develops.
n

About You

n

You will ideally have:

- Several years' experience in public practice or a similar professional accounting environment.
n
- Strong technical accounting and taxation knowledge.
n
- Excellent communication and client relationship skills.
n
- The ability to manage multiple clients and deadlines independently.
n
- Strong attention to detail and commercial awareness.
n
- Experience reviewing work and mentoring junior accountants.
n
- A proactive approach to problem-solving.
n
- Confidence communicating with business owners and senior stakeholders.
n
- A genuine interest in business growth and leadership.
n
- The ambition to take on greater responsibility over time.
n

Qualifications

n

Essential:

n

n
- CA or CPA qualification, or substantial progress toward qualification.
n
- Relevant Australian accounting experience.
n
- Robust knowledge of Australian accounting and taxation requirements.
n
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
n

n

Desirable:

n

n
- Experience in a public practice accounting firm.
n
- Experience managing a portfolio of SME clients.
n
- Experience with Xero and other cloud accounting platforms.
n
- Experience with tax and accounting software such as Xero, MYOB, HandiTax, BGL or
