Umbrella Multicultural Community Care Services is a purpose-driven, multicultural aged care provider that supports CaLD and LGBTIQA+ seniors to live independently with dignity.
Umbrella's Perth based Care Finder program offers free, personalised support to older adults from multicultural and LGBTIQA+ communities to help them find and access the aged care services they're entitled to.
We are seeking a dynamic team member who is motivated to serve others and shares our values of Compassion, Accountability, Respect and Excellence.
As one of our Care Finder Outreach and Engagement Officers, you’ll identify new referral pathways, impactfully increase our community engagement, and raise awareness of the Care Finder Program within priority groups and vulnerable communities.
We want the right person for our team, so we're flexible and can accommodate your preference for a part‑time or full‑time opportunity. This position is based at our Morley office and will cover south metropolitan areas.
What You’ll Do
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders across the mental health, homelessness, housing, domestic and family violence, hospital, and community services sectors.
- Promote the Care Finder Program and strengthen referral pathways through regular stakeholder engagement, networking, and community outreach activities.
- Identify opportunities to increase referrals and improve access to the Program for vulnerable older people.
- Represent the care finder Program at expos, community events, and networking opportunities.
- Deliver presentations and information sessions to stakeholders and community groups.
What You’ll Bring
- Qualifications in Community Services, Mental Health, Youth Work, Human services, or related field, or equivalent relevant experience.
- Demonstrated experience working within mental health, homelessness, housing, domestic and family violence, hospital, or community service sectors.
- Experience in stakeholder engagement, outreach, networking, or community engagement activities.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, including confidence in public speaking and community presentations.
- Demonstrated ability to build and maintain positive working relationships with community stakeholders and service providers.
- Understanding of vulnerabilities and barriers experienced by older people accessing aged care and community services.
- Current Driver’s License and willingness to travel across outreach locations and community settings.
Desirable:
- Previous experience working with CaLD, LGBTIQA+ communities and vulnerable older people.
- Second language other than English.
- Knowledge of My Aged Care, aged care systems, and community support pathways.
- Experience facilitating warm referrals or supporting complex clients to engage with services.
