Buying Assistant

Reporting to the Senior Buyer, the Buying Assistant supports the delivery of category strategies across a agile retail portfolio. This role plays a key part in executing buying plans, maintaining product data, coordinating suppliers, and ensuring the right products are available to meet customer needs.

This is an exciting opportunity for a detail-oriented and commercially curious individual ready to accelerate their buying career, with a clear pathway to develop into a Junior Buyer role in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment.

Key responsibilities

n

Category & Product Support

n

n
- Support the delivery of category plans, including product setup, range reviews, and lifecycle management
n
- Maintain accurate product data, pricing, and systems to ensure seamless trading
n
- Coordinate product information and samples to support range builds and decision-making
n

n

Supplier Coordination

n

n
- Support supplier communication and coordination in partnership with the Buyer
n
- Assist with onboarding documentation and ongoing administrative processes
n
- Coordinate samples, product details, and approvals with internal teams
n

n

Range, Inventory & Promotions

n

n
- Analyse sales and trends to support customer-led range decisions
n
- Partner with Planning to monitor stock levels, availability, and supply risks
n
- Support promotional setup, pricing, and campaign execution
n

n

Collaboration & Continuous Improvement

n

n
- Work cross-functionally with Planning, Marketing, Digital, Supply Chain, and Stores
n
- Provide reporting, insights, and administrative support for launches and campaigns
n




- Ensure data accuracy and contribute to process improvements
n
- Support promotional planning and execution to help drive sales performance
n

n

Cross functional collaboration

n

n
- Collaborate with planning, marketing, digital, supply chain, and store teams to support category initiatives
n
- Provide administrative and analytical support to ensure successful campaign and product launches
n
- Contribute insights and reporting to support decision-making
n

n

Risk, compliance & governance

n

n
- Ensure product data accuracy and compliance with company policies and standards
n
- Support documentation management and maintain up-to-date records
n
- Assist in identifying and escalating potential supply or product risks
n

n

About you

You're organised, proactive, and eager to build your career in retail buying. You enjoy working in a fast-paced environment and have a keen eye for detail.

You'll bring:

- Experience in an administrative, retail, or buying support role (or a strong desire to build a career in buying)

- Strong organisational skills with excellent attention to detail

- Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data and identify trends

- Confident communication skills and the ability to build relationships with internal and external stakeholders
