Tesoro, the signature restaurant at Mövenpick Hotel Hobart, is looking for a reliable and hands-on Part-Time Kitchen Hand to join our culinary team.

n

Located in the heart of Hobart, Tesoro celebrates Italian-inspired dining using the best of Tasmanian produce. Behind every memorable dining experience is a clean, safe and well-organised kitchen.

n

As a Kitchen Hand, you will support the culinary team by maintaining clean and hygienic work areas, operating dishwashing equipment and ensuring our Food & Beverage outlets have the clean and sanitised equipment they need.

Job Description

n

n
- Maintain clean and hygienic kitchen, food preparation, pantry and scullery areas
n
- Operate dishwashing equipment safely and efficiently
n
- Ensure all outlets are supplied with clean, dry and sanitised operating equipment
n
- Count, sort and safely store crockery, cutlery, glassware and kitchen equipment
n
- Complete scheduled cleaning duties, including deep cleaning floors, walls, cool rooms, ovens and equipment
n
- Maintain the cleanliness and stock rotation of pantries, fridges and freezers
n
- Assist with receiving, storing and organising stock
n
- Assist with basic food preparation as directed by the culinary team
n
- Handle cleaning chemicals and equipment safely and according to instructions
n
- Collect and dispose of kitchen waste using safe and hygienic practices
n
- Follow all food safety, hygiene, manual handling and workplace health and safety requirements
n




- Complete assigned duties and provide a clear handover at the end of each shift
n

Qualifications

n

n
- Previous experience in a kitchen, hospitality, cleaning or stewarding role is desirable
n
- An understanding of protected cleaning and chemical-handling practices is preferred
n
- A strong commitment to cleanliness, hygiene and workplace safety
n
- Good organisation and time-management skills
n
- The ability to work independently and use initiative
n
- A positive attitude and willingness to support the wider kitchen team
n
- The ability to safely operate dishwashing and cleaning equipment
n
- The physical capacity to undertake a hands-on role involving standing, lifting, carrying, pushing and pulling
n
- Flexibility to work a rotating roster, including evenings, weekends and public holidays
n
- Current working rights in Australia
