About the Role

n

Reporting to the General Manager Safety & Quality, the Safety Assurance Co-ordinator plays a key role in providing safety assurance across Skytrans Australia. The position supports the identification of risks, management of hazards, continuous improvement and ongoing compliance with the Company's Safety Management System.

n

Working closely with Safety Officers, Flight Safety Officers, Maintenance Safety Officers and operational stakeholders, you will help maintain and strengthen a proactive safety culture across the organisation.

n

This is a full-time position that can be based in Cairns or Brisbane, with some travel required, including the ability to travel at short notice.

n

Key responsibilities will include:

n

- Providing oversight and assurance of the Company's Safety Management System and supporting continuous improvement in safety performance.
n
- Identifying safety risks and hazards and supporting appropriate risk management and mitigation activities.
n
- Working closely with operational and safety stakeholders to promote effective safety reporting, investigation and follow-up.
n




- Providing safety advice and mentoring to employees and supporting the development of a strong reporting and Just Culture environment.
n
- Supporting compliance with Company safety management standards, approved policies, procedures and relevant regulatory requirements.
n
- Conducting independent audits and supporting surveillance and assurance activities across operational areas.
n
- Supporting the monitoring, evaluation and review of safety and quality systems, procedures and corrective actions.
n
- Liaising with operational teams, contractors, customers and regulatory authorities on relevant safety and assurance matters.
n
- Undertaking delegated and regulated duties associated with CASA-regulated Safety and Quality positions, as required.

About You

n

We are looking for an experienced aviation safety professional with a strong understanding of safety management systems, safety assurance and aviation regulatory requirements. You will be collaborative, analytical and confident in providing sound safety advice across a energetic operational environment.

n

You will ideally have:

n

n
- A minimum of 3 years' experience within an aviation safety department.
n
- Working knowledge and experience in providing oversight of safety management systems.
n
- A strong understanding of aviation safety reporting systems.
n
- A strong understanding of regulatory and industry requirements.
n
- The ability to provide safety advice, mentoring and guidance to others.
n
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills,



with the ability to work collaboratively across operational and corporate teams.
n
- The ability to work independently and conduct audits as required.
n
- CASA ARN Holder status and/or successful completion of CASA-related courses (desirable).
n
