Job Description:
n
Hitachi Rail is looking for an enthusiastic self-motivated Civil Site Supervisor who thrives in a fast-paced environment. The successful candidate is comfortable performing a wide range of tasks from administrative to strategic. This is a 2:1 FIFO role based in Karratha that rotates through Perth.
n
You will oversee and manage daily on-site civil construction activities, ensuring projects are completed safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards within budget and schedule for Hitachi, Ltd.
n
Key accountabilities:
n
n
- Supervise and coordinate all civil works on site, including earthworks, foundations, concrete structures, drainage, and paving.
n
- Implement and enforce health, safety, and environmental regulations and Hitachi policies on site.
n
- Monitor project progress, identify potential issues, and implement corrective actions as needed to maintain project timelines.
n
- Conduct regular site inspections to ensure work is performed according to specifications, drawings, and quality standards.
n
- Manage and direct site personnel, subcontractors, and vendors, fostering a productive and collaborative work environment.
n
- Prepare daily and weekly progress reports, documenting site activities, resource utilization, and any deviations.
n
- Ensure proper handling and storage of materials and equipment on site.
n
- Communicate effectively with project managers, engineers, clients, and other stakeholders.
n
- Interpret blueprints, schematics, and construction drawings.
n
- Assist in the resolution of technical issues and challenges that arise during construction.
n

Required skills and knowledge:
n
n
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in civil construction supervision, preferably in large-scale industrial or infrastructure projects.
n
- Proven knowledge of construction methods, materials, and relevant local building codes and regulations.
n
- Strong understanding of health, safety, and environmental (HSE) procedures and best practices.
n
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
n
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, specifications, and project schedules.
n
- Proficiency in project management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
n
- Valid driver's license and ability to travel to various project sites.
n
- Problem-solving attitude and ability to work under pressure.
n
