Karbon builds practice management software used by accounting firms worldwide, with a collaborative cloud platform and customers in 34+ countries supported by a globally distributed, fast-growing team. We're hiring an Engineering Manager who grows high-impact teams that balance efficiency with excellence, value autonomy and creativity, and thrive in a collaborative, inclusive environment.

You will be responsible for driving delivery and people growth across two of our product focused engineering teams. What you'll do
n
n
- Build world-class teams : hire exceptionally, onboard well, coach growth, and set clear expectations and feedback loops.
n
- Raise the bar on technical excellence : clean boundaries, sound designs, high operational standards.
n
- Improve delivery quality & speed :
reduce lead time and change failure rate; keep customer impact front and centre.
n
- Lead us toward Continuous Delivery (we're not quite there yet).
n
- Own reliability with the team: SLOs/SLIs, observability, system health, and blameless incident reviews.
n
- Create autonomy with accountability : align goals and decision rights; foster robust cross-team collaboration.
n

Our tech
n
n
- Frontend: React, TypeScript and Ember .
n
- Backend: .NET (C#, .NET Core, Web API) with SQL Server.
n
- Systems: distributed systems (messaging, event-driven, consistency).
n
n
What you'll bring (must-haves)
n
n
- Previously a Senior+ IC before moving into management.
n
- 2+ years experience in Engineering Management.
n
- Proven record leading teams to improve quality and speed through technical + process change.
n
- Depth in distributed systems and data integrity at scale.
n
- Skill planning and delivering sprints with Product and Tech Leads, balancing new work, enhancements, bugs, and maintenance.
n
- An attitude that embraces AI and how it can be used to unlock new possibilities plus examples where you have done this yourself.
n
- Excellent communication across locations/time zones.
n
- Degree in CS or equivalent experience .
n

- Experience using AI technology to improve the way your teams deliver software.

- Implementation of large scale technical migrations.
