Sante Recruitment is seeking an experienced Consultant Psychiatrist to join the Mental Health Services team across Hervey Bay and Maryborough within the Wide Bay Hospital and Health Service.

n

This is an excellent opportunity to provide specialist psychiatric care across inpatient, outpatient and Hospital-in-the-Home services while contributing to clinical leadership, education and service development.

n

There is also an exciting opportunity for the successful candidate to establish a private practice locally, with support available to assist with rooms, credentialling, administration and the development of referral networks.

n

The Role Will Include

n

n
- Providing expert psychiatric care across inpatient, outpatient and Hospital‐in‐the‐Home services
n
- Working across Hervey Bay and Maryborough Hospitals
n
- Providing specialist psychiatric advice and consultation
n
- Providing professional leadership within a multidisciplinary mental health workplace
n
- Working collaboratively with medical, nursing, allied health and community teams
n
- Supporting high‐quality, patient‐centred mental health services
n
- Providing education, training and supervision to junior medical staff
n
- Contributing to the professional development of the broader healthcare team
n
- Participating in service improvement, clinical governance and ongoing development of Mental Health Services
n

Private Practice Opportunity One of the key attractions of this position is the potential to develop a private psychiatric practice alongside your public appointment.

n

The successful candidate may be able to establish private practice with local private hospitals,



with assistance potentially available including:

n

- Access to sessional consulting rooms

- Support with establishing local referral pathways
n
- Assistance with credentialling
n
- Administrative support when establishing your practice
n
- Introductions to local GPs, physicians and surgeons
n
- Opportunities to develop a sustainable private patient base
n

This provides an attractive opportunity for a Psychiatrist looking to combine public sector clinical work with the longer‐term development of a private practice.

Remuneration

n

The Wide Bay Hospital and Health Service offers a highly competitive remuneration package of up to $564,548 per annum, depending on experience, qualifications and applicable allowances.

n

- Base salary of approximately $193,191 – $282,912 p.a.
n
- Employer superannuation of up to 12.75%

About You

n

n
- Fellowship of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists (RANZCP) or equivalent
n
- Specialist registration with AHPRA, or eligibility to obtain specialist registration
n
- Broad contemporary psychiatric experience
n
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
n
- A commitment to multidisciplinary patient care
n
- An interest in teaching, supervision and service development
n

Internationally trained Psychiatrists who may be eligible for an Australian specialist registration pathway are encouraged to enquire.
