Customer Service Officer - Latrobe Regional Gallery

We're looking for Customer Service Officers to join the team at Latrobe Regional Gallery in a Casual capacity.
n
In this role, you'll be the welcoming face of one of Gippsland's leading cultural destinations, helping visitors connect with exhibitions, programs and events while supporting the day-to-day operations of the Gallery.
n
This is a great opportunity for someone with robust customer service skills who is looking to build their experience in a cultural venue, visitor services environment, or local government setting. You'll gain exposure to gallery operations, retail management, administration, community engagement and event support, while working alongside a passionate team that is committed to providing outstanding visitor experiences.

What You'll Be Doing
n
n
- Creating a welcoming and engaging experience for Gallery visitors, artists and community members
n
- Managing front-of-house operations including reception, visitor enquiries and customer support
n
- Delivering guided tours of the exhibitions each season,
n
- Assisting with public program set up and delivery,
n
- Supporting the Gallery retail shop, including sales,
merchandising and point-of-sale transactions
n
- Assisting with visitor data collection, reporting and administrative activities that support Gallery operations
n
- Helping maintain a professional, welcoming and well-presented Gallery environment
n
- Working collaboratively with the Gallery team to support exhibitions, programs and events
n
n
About You
n
You are a friendly and energetic customer service professional who enjoys working with people and creating positive experiences. You thrive in a team environment, have excellent communication skills and take pride in providing helpful and personalised service.
n
You bring strong organisational skills, attention to detail and confidence using computer systems. Whether your background is in customer service, retail, hospitality, tourism, arts or another visitor-focused environment, you'll be passionate about connecting with people and contributing to a vibrant community venue.

Key Selection Criteria
n
n
- Demonstrated experience providing high-quality customer service and creating memorable visitor or customer experiences
n
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to confidently respond to enquiries and build positive relationships
n
- Well-developed administrative, computer and organisational skills,
including the ability to learn new systems and manage a variety of tasks
n
- Solid attention to detail and accuracy with cash handling
n
- Ability to work collaboratively within a diverse team and contribute to a qualified, welcoming environment
n
n
