Melbourne

Cuboid Ventures is looking for an AI-Native Product Engineer to help shape and build AI-powered products for real estate developers and other complex, workflow-driven industries.

We are looking for someone who has solved complex problems, interviewed stakeholders, recognised patterns across workflows and data, identified opportunities, designed the right product architecture and used AI to help turn that vision into reliable production software.

This is a hybrid role with 3 days in office. We are currently located in Mount Waverley.

The role

You will work closely with founders, users and domain specialists to take ideas from discovery through to implementation.

You should be able to:

- Interview stakeholders and understand their goals, decisions, workflows and constraints
- Elicit and clarify product requirements from ambiguous problems
- Identify opportunities for AI, automation and conventional software
- Recognise reusable patterns across users, workflows and products
- Translate requirements into product concepts, workflows, data models and system designs
- Create clear implementation plans and break work into verifiable increments
- Build and ship full-stack product features
- Direct AI coding agents with appropriate context, constraints and architectural guidance
- Review, test and refine AI-generated output
- Remain accountable for the quality, reliability and coherence of the finished system

You do need strong technical judgment, structured thinking and the ability to carry an idea from ambiguity through to a working product.

AI-native development

Our development process is AI-native, but it is not vibe coding.

We use AI across research, requirements, design, planning,

implementation, testing, documentation, debugging and refactoring. We are looking for someone who understands how to use AI agents effectively while knowing where human judgment is essential.

You should be able to decompose work clearly, provide agents with accurate context and constraints, and verify generated output before it reaches production.

What you may work on

- Translating real-world operational workflows into coherent product systems
- Designing and building full-stack features
- Developing AI-assisted workflows and decision-support tools
- Working with documents, communications, structured data and external systems
- Designing data models, APIs, integrations and system boundaries
- Building human-in-the-loop controls for consequential AI outputs
- Prototyping and validating current product opportunities
- Improving testing, permissions, observability and production reliability

What we are looking for

You may be a strong fit if you have:

- Commercial experience building and shipping full-stack software products
- Strong product and systems thinking
- Experience interviewing users or stakeholders and eliciting requirements
- The ability to turn ambiguous problems into clear product and technical plans
- Good judgment around architecture, data modelling and system boundaries

- Experience with TypeScript, React, APIs and PostgreSQL
- Experience using AI coding agents in a structured development process
- Experience integrating language models or AI services into production applications
- An understanding of structured outputs, tool use, retrieval, context management and human review
- A disciplined approach to testing, verification and production quality
- Clear communication skills and the confidence to explain technical decisions

Experience in property, construction, finance, workflow software or other document-heavy industries would be valuable, but is not essential.

Our current technology includes React, TypeScript, Supabase, PostgreSQL, AI models and agent infrastructure. Experience with every technology is not required.

Why join us?

You will have the opportunity to:

- Work directly with founders, users and industry practitioners
- Solve meaningful operational problems
- Shape products and architecture, not just implement tickets
- Build AI into the foundations of a growing product ecosystem
- Take ideas from stakeholder discovery through to production
- Influence the technical and product direction of the business

How to apply

Send us

- Your resume or LinkedIn profile
- Links to relevant products, projects or technical work
- A short explanation of how you use AI agents in your development process
- An example of a complex or ambiguous problem you helped turn into a coherent product or system

We are more interested in how you approached the problem, made decisions and validated the outcome than in how much code you personally wrote.
