CHEF / COOK — PIZZA PREPARATION & SERVICE

Position: Chef / Cook (Pizza)

Reports to: Owner

Location: Tillage Pizza, Belmont

POSITION OVERVIEW

- Responsible for food preparation and kitchen service, with a primary focus on pizza preparation, cooking and service. The role requires consistency, speed, cleanliness and attention to food quality.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Prepare pizza dough, sauces, toppings and other menu components.
- Portion and prepare ingredients for service and any catering/functions required
- Stretch, top and prepare pizzas to Tillage Pizza specifications.
- Operate the wood-fired pizza oven safely and efficiently.
- Cook pizzas consistently to required quality and presentation standards.
- Greet customers with a positive attitude and display professionalism and valuable customer service at all times (it is an open kitchen).
- Operate as the food safety supervisor for the kitchen.
- Maintain appropriate food safety, hygiene and cleanliness standards.
- Monitor ingredient levels and communicate stock requirements.
- Minimise food waste through appropriate preparation,



storage and portion control.
- Assist with opening and closing kitchen procedures.
- Maintain a clean, organised and efficient kitchen.
- Work effectively with front-of-house staff during busy services.
- Follow recipes, preparation procedures and operational standards.

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
- Previous commercial kitchen experience preferred.
- Pizza-making experience desirable.
- Experience with a wood-fired oven desirable.
- Strong understanding of food safety and kitchen hygiene.
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure.
- Good knife and food preparation skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Pay: $30.00 – $35.00 per hour Expected hours: 4.0 – 16.0 per week
