AMA (NSW) is the peak body representing the state's medical profession - advocating for doctors and their patients, and supporting our members through some of the most complex moments in their careers. As we continue to evolve as an organisation, we're looking for a Chief Operating and Finance Officer to join our executive team and take ownership of how AMA (NSW) runs.

About the role:

Reporting directly to the CEO, this is a senior executive role responsible for the effective delivery of AMA (NSW)'s operational functions, with particular emphasis on:

● Financial oversight - budgeting, reporting, cash flow, statutory and audit compliance, and presenting performance to the CEO and Board.

● IT systems and service delivery, including leading our current systems transition and the development of our membership database.

● Property and facilities management, including leading the sale of the AMA (NSW) building end-to-end

● Direct leadership of the Finance, IT, Membership and HR teams.

You'll have broad operational delegation across these functions, and will partner closely with the CEO to drive organisational effectiveness through a period of real change.

About you:

● Bachelor's degree in business, finance, commerce or a related field; CPA or CA highly regarded.





● 8-10 years' senior operational and/or financial leadership experience.

● Demonstrated experience overseeing finance, IT and facilities functions, and leading organisational or systems transitions.

● Solid financial acumen, excellent stakeholder management skills, and the judgement to operate at executive and Board level.

● Experience in a not-for-profit, membership-based or health care organisation, and/or managing a property sale or major facilities transition, highly desirable.
