Coalstoun Lakes State School is seeking an experienced, organised and committed Cleaner to help maintain a clean, safe and welcoming school environment. Our Cleaner is a pivotal part of our school community. Working under the direction of the Principal or nominated delegate, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality cleaning services in accordance with the school’s cleaning program.
The successful applicant will be reliable, organised and committed to maintaining high standards of cleanliness. You will work independently, follow established procedures, use cleaning equipment safely and communicate effectively with staff and members of the school community. This position is being offered in a Permanent Part-Time capacity (0.53FTE), 40.5 hours per fortnight.

Coalstoun Lakes State School is asmall, caring rural school located approximately 120 kilometres south-west of Bundaberg, in the farming community of Coalstoun Lakes between Ban Ban Springs and Biggenden. Established in 1910, the school has a proud history and robust connections across generations of local families. It provides a high-quality learning environment aligned with the Australian Curriculum, with a strong focus on supporting each student's educational and social development.
The school values collaboration, community involvement and strong partnerships between students, families and staff, while working with the North Burnett Cluster of State Schools to provide curriculum, sporting and cultural opportunities.
Your Opportunity
- Contribute to the efficient and effective operation and environment of the site by providing a high level of cleaning support.
- Ensure that the duties prescribed for the position are completed to an acceptable standard as determined by their supervisor, in accordance with the approved school cleaning program.
- You will be working as the sole cleaner at the School. Previous cleaning experience is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Clean and sanitise classrooms, offices, toilets, sick bays and common areas.
- Vacuum, sweep, mop, hose and maintain floors and outdoor surfaces.
- Clean windows, furniture, fixtures, fittings and equipment.
- Maintain floors through buffing, stripping and polishing where required.
- Manage rubbish, litter, drains and gutters.
- Undertake cobweb, mildew and graffiti removal.
- Safely operate and maintain cleaning equipment.
- Report security, safety, damage or maintenance concerns to the appropriate staff.
- Activate and disarm security systems and lock/unlock buildings as required.
- Assist with monitoring and ordering cleaning supplies.
- Undertake other appropriate cleaning duties as directed.
