Commercial Planning Manager

As our Commercial Planning Manager, you will be at the centre of shaping how our wines are allocated, distributed and positioned across global markets. Playing a pivotal role in connecting commercial strategy with data-led planning, you will lead forecasting, inventory optimisation and commercial analysis that underpin our wine allocation strategy. Working across Sales, Marketing, Winemaking and Operations, you will transform complex data into clear, actionable recommendations that optimise margin, inventory performance and support sustainable growth in line with Henschke's fine wine positioning.
This is a diverse and influential role that sits at the intersection of commercial strategy, operational execution and international market support. You will lead supply and demand planning, allocation strategy, export planning and commercial analysis to ensure the smooth flow of information and product across the business. Working closely with domestic and international distributor partners, you will provide the insights, tools and support they need to successfully represent the Henschke brand, while maintaining high standards of service, operational efficiency and business performance.

support informed decision-making and contribute to the continued success of one of Australia's most iconic premium wine brands.
Key responsibilities include
- Leading commercial planning, forecasting and inventory optimisation across all channels and markets.
- Driving allocation strategies that maximise inventory performance, margin and market opportunities.
- Transforming complex commercial and market data into actionable insights and recommendations.
- Supporting the Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP;) process to align demand, production and inventory priorities.
- Owning export planning and market allocation activities to support global distribution and business performance.
- Building trusted relationships with distributor partners and providing exceptional commercial support.
- Coordinating export marketing initiatives, wine releases and market-facing communications.
- Championing cross-functional collaboration to ensure commercial priorities are effectively translated into operational plans.
About You You are a commercially astute and analytical qualified who enjoys translating complex data into meaningful insights and strategic recommendations. Working collaboratively across Sales, Marketing, Winemaking and Operations, you are comfortable balancing commercial priorities, customer expectations and operational requirements to deliver strong business outcomes. Highly organised and detail-oriented, you can confidently manage multiple priorities while maintaining accuracy and a strong focus on service.

Skills, Experience & Qualifications
- Tertiary qualification in Business, Commerce, Supply Chain, Data Analytics or a related discipline.
- Experience in commercial planning, forecasting, supply chain coordination, inventory management, export operations or a related commercial role.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data, develop forecasts and provide commercially sound recommendations.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver outcomes within deadlines.
- Excellent relationship-building and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to work effectively across teams and with external partners.
- A proactive mindset with a focus on continuous improvement and operational efficiency.
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail, particularly in relation to documentation, reporting and compliance requirements.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and confidence working with business systems and reporting tools.
- Experience with EZYWine or similar ERP/business systems is desirable.
