The Opportunity

Due to continued growth, we’re seeking an experienced HR Hook Lift Truck Driver to join our team based in Dandenong South, servicing customers across Melbourne’s south-east and wider metropolitan area.

You’ll collect, exchange and deliver hook lift bins safely and efficiently across commercial, industrial and construction sites, representing Wanless with professional, reliable customer service.

This permanent full time role includes early morning starts, overtime as required and rostered weekend work. Proven hook lift waste truck driving experience is essential.

Key responsibilities

• Collect, exchange and deliver hook lift bins safely, efficiently and to schedule

• Navigate metropolitan traffic and operate safely around pedestrians, heavy vehicles and machinery at active commercial, industrial and construction sites

• Complete daily pre-start inspections, basic maintenance checks, run sheets, paperwork and safety documentation

• Follow site safety requirements,



road laws and all applicable heavy vehicle and Chain of Responsibility obligations

• Keep your truck clean, presentable and ready for service

• Maintain clear communication with allocators, the operations team and customers throughout the day

About you

You’re a dependable, safety focused hook lift driver who knows Melbourne roads, takes pride in your vehicle and delivers a high standard of service at every site.

You will have:

• A current Victorian HR driver licence

• Proven full-time experience operating hook lift waste trucks

• Experience driving waste trucks across Melbourne’s south-east and metropolitan road network

• A strong understanding of transport safety, load restraint, fatigue management and safe operating practices

• Professional communication and customer service skills

• Flexibility to work early starts, overtime and rostered weekends

• A safe driving record and the ability to provide a recent VicRoads driver history report

• Physical fitness, reliability and the ability to pass a pre-employment medical, police check and drug and alcohol testing
