HCF TRAINING TEAM LEAD – COMBAT SYSTEMS

Role Description:

We have an exciting opportunity within our Hunter Class LoB developing technical training curriculum and implementing technology based training solutions, performing technical training analysis, design, development and implementation activities.

As the HCF Training Team Lead for Combat Systems, you will develop training documentation in accordance with appropriate standards and ensure that the product meets all requirements including safety and regulatory requirements.

Core Duties:

- Undertake training gap analysis to identify program training requirements
- Provide technical training specialisation skills and advice to support the program
- Collaborate effectively and build good relationships with internal and external stakeholders, maintaining a positive culture
- Conduct training design user testing and validate training designs and resources
- Seek and share good practice and knowledge to continuously improve training design practices
- Participate in regular and ad hoc team meetings as required
- Ensure the annual PDR process for your team and you is completed in line with required timeframes, including participating in performance discussions throughout the year
- Report the status and progress of Combat Systems assigned work packages to the HCF Training Support Services Manager
- Conduct reviews of all training products for accuracy and quality
- Liaise with other Training Team members to ensure consistency in developing training products
- Provide input into continuous improvement initiatives and into processes and plans




- Prepare training products for delivery in accordance with the schedule
- Work collaboratively with the other team members to ensure data is available to meet the requirements of the contract
- Effectively communicate with all stakeholder groups (including External Customer forums where approved), raising issues to relevant stakeholder(s) in an objective, professional and timely manner
- In the absence of the HCF ILS Training Support Services Manager, represent the HCF ILS Training Support Services Manager at meetings, working groups and similar situations as directed

Essential Skills:

- Minimum of 5 years experience in an Instructional Design capacity (desirable)
- Application of ADDIE methodology to Training solutions (essential)
- Application of SADL methodology to Training solutions (highly desirable)
- Extensive knowledge of maritime warfare sensor systems including Radar, Sonar, Electro-Optics, Electronic Warfare, below and above water weapons systems, Data Links, Cryptographic equipment, LOS and BLOS communications systems, Navigation subsystems and voice communications equipment and procedures (essential)
- Demonstrated experience in a defence related industry. (highly desirable)
- Demonstrated advanced ability to use MS Office and other presentation/training authoring products. (essential)
- Cert IV in Training and Assessment (essential)
- Relevant Cert III/IV/V in a domain appropriate to Radar/Sonar/Optical and/or Communications sensor operation and employment (desirable)
- Defence security clearance or eligibility to obtain
- Eligibility to be cleared for International Traffic In Arms (ITAR) regulations
