Join a leading geotechnical and construction materials testing team in the Northern Territory

Lintin Geotechnical is seeking an experienced and motivated Senior Laboratory Technician to join our Darwin laboratory on a full-time basis.

This is a hands-on role suited to a technician with strong laboratory experience who can work independently, maintain high technical standards, and assist in the day-to-day operation of a busy NATA-accredited laboratory.

Reporting to the Laboratory Manager, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality testing services to support major infrastructure, construction, mining, and land development projects throughout the Northern Territory.

Key Responsibilities

- Conduct laboratory testing on soil, aggregate, concrete, and other construction materials in accordance with Australian Standards and client specifications.

- Prepare and process samples for testing.

- Ensure testing is completed accurately and within required timeframes.

- Assist with laboratory quality systems and NATA compliance requirements.

- Maintain testing equipment, calibration records, and housekeeping standards.

- Review and verify test results and laboratory documentation.

- Mentor and support junior laboratory staff and technicians.

- Assist with workload planning and daily laboratory operations.

- Promote a strong safety culture and comply with workplace health and safety requirements.

About You





To be successful in this role, you will ideally have:

- Previous experience in a geotechnical or construction materials testing laboratory.

- Sound knowledge of relevant Australian Standards.

- Experience performing soil, aggregate, concrete, and pavement material testing.

- Strong understanding of quality assurance and laboratory procedures.

- Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.

- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

- Positive written and verbal communication skills.

- A current Australian driver's licence.

Highly Regarded

- NATA-accredited laboratory experience.

- Experience in supervisory or senior technician roles.

- Knowledge of NT infrastructure and construction projects.

- Certificate IV in Laboratory Techniques or equivalent qualification.
