About the Role As a Payments Product Manager, you will drive the end-to-end management and enhancement of payment products and customer experiences, including debit cards, account-to-account payments, cheques, and emerging payment solutions. You will balance product ownership, strategic delivery, commercial management, risk oversight, and change implementation while partnering with stakeholders across Product, Technology, Operations, Risk, Compliance, Finance, and external providers. The role also involves acting as a Payments SME, supporting enterprise-wide transformation, regulatory initiatives, scheme mandates, and operational improvements.

What will your day look like?
As a Payments Product Manager, you will:
- End-to-end product ownership of key payment products and capabilities, including debit cards, account to account payments, cheque and deposit books, which entails product performance, customer experience, process improvements, customer collateral, issue management and complaints management.
- End-to-end accountability of payments value chain for retail customers.
- Owning and managing relationships with key business partners, vendors and other external service providers.
- Providing Payments SME support and influence for Scheme Mandates, bank-wide initiatives and cross-business change programs.
- Designing and delivering customer-focused payment solutions that improve customer outcomes and support business objectives.
- Supporting the development and delivery of the payments strategy, including innovation, new capabilities and customer proposition improvements.
- Working across business units to support major transformation, regulatory, risk and operational initiatives.
What will you bring?
To grow and be successful in this role, you will ideally bring the following:
- Solid product management experience in banking, payments, cards, deposits or financial services.
- Strong understanding of customer payment journeys and product lifecycle management.
- Financial and commercial acumen, including cost management, forecasting, budgeting and business case analysis.
- Change delivery, business analysis and project management experience
- Strong analytical capability and confidence working with product, customer, operational and financial data.
- Experience managing vendors, supplier performance, contracts and commercial outcomes.
- Strategy design and development experience preferred but not essential.
- Strong stakeholder management across Product, Technology, Operations, Risk, Finance and external partners.
- Sound understanding of risk management, governance, controls and regulatory obligations.
- Customer-focused mindset, curiosity, adaptability and willingness to work across both BAU and strategic initiatives.
- A strong interest or passion for payments and card products
- A curious growth mindset.
