Wilmar Sugar & Renewables is looking for an experienced Crushing Operator, Turbine Operator or heavy-industry operator to join our team at Plane Creek Mill in Sarina, North Queensland.

What you'll do

You'll be an important part of the team keeping Plane Creek Mill operating safely, efficiently and reliably.

Your day-to-day will include:

- Operating cane feeding, preparation and crushing equipment
- Operating and monitoring plant through Citect SCADA
- Identifying process issues, restrictions and operational problems
- Completing operational logs and shift reports
- Performing operational maintenance and assisting tradespeople
- Supporting plant isolations and permit-to-work processes
- Completing risk assessments and maintaining high safety standards
- Maintaining excellent housekeeping around the milling train and associated plant

What we're looking for





We're after people who are safety-focused, mechanically minded and confident working around complex industrial equipment.

Sugar industry experience is highly regarded, but we're also interested in transferable skills from:

- Power generation
- Mining
- Heavy manufacturing
- Industrial processing
- Oil & gas
- Other continuous-process environments

Ideally, you'll have:

- Confined Space Entry
- Working Safely at Heights
- HRWL Turbine Operator (TO) – highly desirable
- Common User Competencies
- Dogger, Basic Rigger, EWP or Scaffolding – desirable

A job that works around the seasons

This is a permanent, year-round position.

During the crushing season, you'll work a continuous rotating shift roster, including weekends and occasional overtime.

When crushing finishes, you'll move to a day work roster during the maintenance season.

That means you get the variety and earning potential of shift work, combined with the benefits of day work during the maintenance period.
