Hays is partnering with a global leader in the electrical and power products sector to recruit a Quality Engineer. This is a hands-on quality role supporting a broad range of electrical and power distribution products, with a strong focus on customer quality, manufacturing performance, compliance, and continuous improvement.
Your new role
In this role, you will be responsible for driving product and process quality excellence across customer, manufacturing, supplier and systems-related quality activities. You will work closely with production, engineering, supply chain and customer-facing teams to resolve quality issues, reduce defects and support operational performance.
- Lead investigations into customer complaints, using 8D methodology, root cause analysis and structured problem-solving tools.
- Drive containment, corrective and preventive actions through to completion.
- Act as the key quality contact for customer issues across the region.
- Monitor quality KPIs, analyse trends and identify opportunities to improve customer satisfaction and product performance.
- Support manufacturing operations to improve First Pass Yield, reduce Cost of Non-Quality, and minimise rework and scrap.
- Lead process audits and ensure adherence to control plans, quality standards and ISO 9001 requirements.
- Conduct data analysis to support quality improvements and continuous improvement projects.
- Support supplier quality investigations, corrective actions, internal and external audits, and new product introduction activities.
What you'll need to succeed
- A degree in Mechanical, Industrial, Electrical, Manufacturing, Quality Engineering or a related discipline.
- 3-5+ years' experience in a Quality Engineering role within a manufacturing environment.
- Experience with electrical products, switchgear, breakers or power distribution products will be highly regarded.
- Strong working knowledge of 8D, 5 Why, Fishbone Analysis, PFMEA, control plans and statistical analysis.
- Experience working with production, engineering, supply chain, supplier quality and customer-facing teams.
