The Role:

Are you an experienced engineering professional looking to bring your technical expertise to a global leader in aerospace innovation? Leonardo Australia is seeking a dedicated Engineering Specialist to join our dynamic MRO team in Fishermans Bend.

In this role,



you will play a pivotal part in component repair and overhaul operations, optimising workshop processes, and ensuring world-class maintenance standards. Working directly with our local Technicians, Certifying Staff, and engineering counterparts in Italy, you will drive process accuracy, technical clarity, and operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

- Technical Documentation: Author, manage, evaluate, and continuously improve technical work instructions and task cards using authoritative data.

- Engineering Support: Conduct technical analysis for component maintenance, facility operations, tooling, and internal process specifications.

- Collaborative Liaison: Partner with Customer Support Engineering and Italy-based engineering teams to resolve ambiguous data and implement local process improvements.

- Workshop & Testing: Operate specialised multipurpose test stands, support hands-on shop floor activities, and ensure calibrated tooling meets strict safety requirements.

- Safety & Human Factors: Identify and integrate Human Factor precautions and controls within workshop procedures to support a strong safety culture.

What We Are Looking For:

To be successful in this role, you will bring a balanced mix of:

- Education: Minimum Diploma of Engineering (Aeronautics, Aerospace, Aviation, or Mechanical).

- Experience: 2 - 3 years engineering experience in aerospace, aviation, or mechanical environments with practical application of technical specifications and documentation management.

- Skills: Meticulous attention to detail, strong oral and written communication, and a proactive problem-solving mindset.

- Requirements: Full Australian work rights and a clear National Police Clearance (or ability to obtain).
