About the role

The COO will be responsible for the non-engineering activities that make a high-growth hardware company successful. While engineers focus on the tech and the sales team focuses on the market, you will manage the rest of the company and be the 2IC (second in command) for the CEO. This role offers a clear pathway to your first CEO role as the current CEO retires in 2027/2028.

Key responsibilities

- Full management of the Port Melbourne facility, ensuring it supports both R&D; and production needs, maintaining a professional state of the art facility

- Draft, review, and manage contracts for customers, partners, and employees

- Project manage company participation in major industry exhibitions in Europe and the US

- Build a robust logistics framework to ship products to, and support, international customers

- Manage relationships with suppliers, contractors, and service providers

- Budget and finance management. Oversee company financial health, budgeting, and cash flow management

About you

- Proven Operations Leadership: Experience in a COO or Operations Manager role, ideally within a hardware, manufacturing,



or tech start-up

- Strategic Growth: Experience with the challenges of scaling the business-side of a company from early production units to a recurring revenue model

- Entrepreneurial Spirit: You enjoy the building phase of a company on the move and are happy to be hands-on as the team grows

- You will divest responsibilities to recent staff as the company grows and look upward to potentially take on the CEO role yourself
