About the role
Eat Well Nutrition Service is looking for a passionate and experienced Dietitian to join our team in a part time position supporting our aged care facilities in Warrnambool and surrounding regional areas. As a talented dietitian, you will play a crucial role in providing high-quality nutritional care to our aged care homes and their residents, ensuring their dietary needs are met and their health and wellbeing are optimised. The exact days of the week being flexible so we can align with your other work and personal commitments.
What you'll be doing
- Conduct comprehensive dietary assessments, developing tailored strategies to meet nutritional requirements of older people
- Monitor aged care residents' nutritional status and make adjustments to their care plans as needed
- Collaborate with the care, clinical and catering teams to ensure seamless delivery of nutritional care
- Undertake meal audits, menu reviews, and supplement reviews in aged care homes
- Provide nutrition education to staff, residents and their families in aged care settings
- Participate in regular communication with the care team and wider MDT to optimise care
- Maintain detailed records and documentation in accordance with industry standards and regulations
What we're looking for
- Bachelor's or Masters degree in Nutrition and Dietetics, and membership with Dietitians Australia and the APD program
- Minimum 1 year of experience working as a Dietitian, preferably in an aged care or disability healthcare setting
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and provide empathetic care to elderly residents
- Solid problem-solving and critical thinking skills to identify and address complex nutritional challenges
- Proficiency in using relevant software and technology to document and track resident care
- Flexible and adaptable, able to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
- Essential that you want to live and work in regional areas and a willingness to travel to the aged care homes, this is a vital part of the role
