Develop your practice, with the right people and support around you.
Kern is looking for a Speech Pathologist to join our established team in Mandurah, supporting children, young people and adults across a varied caseload.
We are predominantly a NDIS provider and are continuing to grow our private services. This creates greater clinical variety, opportunities to develop your areas of interest and the chance to contribute to the next stage of our service model.
The role is available full-time or part-time, with flexibility around how your working week is structured.
Why join Kern?
At Kern, our employee and client experience comes first. We invest in the people, leadership and systems that allow our Speech Pathologists to focus more of their time and energy on meaningful clinical work.
- Tailored Coaching and Development. Your onboarding, mentoring and ongoing development are shaped around your experience, confidence, clinical interests and skilled goals.
- An established Speech Pathology team. Access discipline-specific support, peer consultation, shared learning and experienced Speech Pathologists who understand the work.
- Leaders who work alongside their teams. Our Team Leaders remain connected and accessible, offering clinical guidance, reflective practice and support with complex situations.
- Strong administration support. Our dedicated team assists with service coordination, funding processes and systems, helping reduce avoidable administrative burden.
- Space to develop your clinical identity. Build on your strengths and pursue areas of interest while contributing your ideas, experience and knowledge to the team.
- Genuine multidisciplinary collaboration. Work alongside Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists, Psychologists, Exercise Physiologist and Therapy Assistants through our team around the person approach.
- Flexible full-time and part-time options, supporting different lifestyles and stages of life.
- Five additional Kern Wellness Days each year, on top of annual leave.
- Variety across NDIS and private services. Work within our established NDIS services while helping shape our growing private service offering.
The role
You will provide high-quality, person-centred Speech Pathology across our Mandurah clinic and community settings. Your caseload may include communication, speech, language, literacy, social communication, AAC, fluency, and feeding and swallowing, depending on your experience and interests.
Working with participants, private clients, families and support networks, you will:
- Undertake assessments and deliver individualised, evidence-informed intervention
- Support communication, participation, capacity and mealtime outcomes that matter in everyday life
- Work collaboratively with families, communication partners, schools and support networks
- Consult with other disciplines where this supports the person and their goals
- Maintain timely, high-quality clinical documentation
- Contribute to shared learning and the continued development of speech pathology at kern
- Our approach recognises that communication takes many forms. We seek to understand each person and work in a strengths-based, neurodiversity-affirming and respectful way.
About you
You may be an early-career or experienced Speech Pathologist.
More important than a particular title is that you:
- Are committed to high-quality, person-centred and evidence-informed practice
- Value participant voice, communication access and meaningful everyday outcomes
- Want to keep developing your practice and professional identity
- Enjoy sharing knowledge and working as part of a connected team
- Value autonomy while knowing support is available when you need it
- Bring curiosity, initiative and a willingness to do things different and better
You will also need:
- A recognised qualification in speech pathology
- Ideally familiar with NDIS legislative framework and reporting requirements
- Current membership or eligibility for membership with speech pathology Australia
- A current working with children check
- A current NDIS worker screening check
- A current driver’s licence and access to a suitable vehicle
