About the role

As Bar Supervisor, you'll play a key role in the day-to-day operations of the rooftop bar and restaurant, ensuring exceptional service standards and a welcoming atmosphere for guests and associates alike. Located high above the Melbourne Marriott Hotel Docklands, The Sunset House offers a unique rooftop experience where stunning views, seasonal dining and expertly crafted cocktails meet warm, authentic hospitality.

Key responsibilities

- Leading and motivating the bar team during service

- Delivering memorable and personalised guest experiences

- Acting as a visible and approachable leader on the floor

- Supporting the management team in achieving service, quality and financial goals

- Supervising opening and closing procedures

- Managing stock control, ordering, and beverage presentation standards

- Training, coaching, and developing associates

- Handling guest feedback and resolving issues professionally and proactively

- Ensuring compliance with liquor licensing, food safety and Marriott brand standards

- Maintaining a positive, energetic and high-performing team culture

- Confident coaching and developing team members

- Strong knowledge of cocktails, wine, spirits and premium beverage service

- Understanding of stock control and operational procedures

- Current Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA) certification
