Geotest Services Pty Ltd is a well-established geotechnical testing company servicing the Sydney metropolitan area and surrounding regions. With a strong reputation within the construction industry, we provide a range of field and laboratory testing services to support major civil, infrastructure and construction projects.

We are currently seeking an experienced Field Technician to join our team, primarily working across North West and South West Sydney.

About the Role

This is a hands-on field-based position suited to someone who enjoys working outdoors, visiting different project sites and taking responsibility for delivering accurate and reliable testing results.

The successful applicant will undertake geotechnical field testing and sampling across a variety of construction and civil projects, while working closely with our clients, site personnel and internal team.

Level 1 supervisory experience is essential for this position.

Key Responsibilities

- Conduct geotechnical field testing and sampling in accordance with relevant Australian Standards and company procedures

- Undertake Level 1 supervision and associated field testing activities

- Perform in-situ soil testing and other geotechnical field investigations

- Collect, label and manage soil and material samples

- Accurately record field data, test results and site observations

- Complete field reports and documentation in a timely manner

- Communicate professionally with clients, site supervisors and project personnel

- Maintain testing equipment and ensure it is kept in positive working condition

- Follow all workplace health and safety requirements and site-specific procedures

- Travel to various construction and civil project sites throughout Sydney

- Work independently while maintaining communication with the office and broader Geotest team

About You

We are looking for someone who is reliable,



practical and takes pride in producing accurate work.

To be successful in this role, you will have:

- Previous experience as a geotechnical field technician

- Level 1 supervisory experience – essential

- Knowledge and practical experience with geotechnical field testing

- An understanding of relevant Australian Standards and testing procedures

- A current NSW Driver Licence

- Strong attention to detail and accurate record keeping

- Good communication and interpersonal skills

- The ability to work independently and manage your time effectively

- A strong commitment to workplace health and safety

- The ability to work outdoors in a range of weather and site conditions

- A professional and reliable approach to working with clients and project teams
