SENIOR DECORATOR & PASTRY CHEF - FULL TIME

With a large and loyal customer base, we specialise in high-end, hand-made cakes, artisan breads, preserves, biscuits, slices and pastries. We’re looking for an experienced Decorator to lead our Decorating and Special Occasion Cakes section in our state-of-the-art, purpose-built kitchen in Albion

This is a hands-on leadership role for an accomplished decorator who takes pride in exceptional finish, consistency and efficiency and who enjoys developing others and working in a high-volume, creative production environment.

THE ROLE

As Senior Decorator, you will lead a small, talented team of professional decorators while remaining actively involved in the day-to-day decorating and production of our cakes, cupcakes, slices and other sweet products.

Working closely with the Head Chef and Owner, you will be responsible for the smooth operation of the decorating bench, ensuring our products consistently meet the high standards Jocelyn’s Provisions is known for.

Your responsibilities will include:

- Leading, mentoring and inspiring a small team of professional decorators, while teaching and supporting apprentices

- Allocating daily decorating and production tasks to ensure the team works efficiently and production targets are met

- Working as part of our creative team to develop recent products for special occasions and additions to our regular range

- Icing and decorating cakes, cupcakes, slices,



brownies and other products for our four retail stores and wholesale customers

- Decorating a wide range of special occasion cakes, including multi-layered, bespoke and detailed creations

- Maintaining appropriate par levels of icings, frostings, buttercreams, fillings and other decorating components

- Ensuring consistency, accuracy and a high standard of finish across all products

- Working efficiently to meet daily production requirements without compromising quality

- Maintaining a clean, organised and professional decorating environment

- Ensuring compliance with WHS, HACCP, food safety and Jocelyn’s Provisions’ internal procedures and reporting requirements

- Supporting a positive, collaborative team culture and contributing to the ongoing development of our decorating team

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

The successful applicant will have:

- Proven experience as a cake decorator, pastry chef or in a similar professional decorating role

- A strong track record of working with speed, precision and accuracy across high volumes of handmade products

- Advanced cake decorating skills and a strong eye for detail, finish and presentation

- Experience with bespoke and special occasion cakes

- The ability to lead, mentor and develop a small team

- Excellent organisation and time-management skills





- The ability to remain calm, focused and positive during busy production periods

- The ability to work independently while also being a strong and supportive team member

- A proactive, self-motivated and hardworking approach

- A genuine passion for producing exceptional quality food

- A commitment to food safety, cleanliness and professional kitchen standards

REQUIREMENTS

- Must have strong decorating experience with pallet knife skills and piping skills.

- Valid Australian work rights

- Pastry chef qualifications are a bonus, but not essential with strong experience
