Ormond Civil is a leading construction and structural company known for delivering innovative and high quality infrastructure projects nationwide. We are seeking an experienced and proactive Human Resources Manager to lead our people strategy and support our continued growth.
Job Description: Working closely with senior management and operational teams, you will oversee the full employee lifecycle while ensuring our HR practices remain practical, compliant and aligned with the needs of a fast-paced construction business.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist managers with coordinating effective recruitment, candidate selection, onboarding and induction processes.
- Develop, implement and regularly review HR strategies, policies and workforce plans that support the company’s operational and long term objectives.
- Identify employee development needs and assist with the delivery of appropriate training, professional development and succession planning initiatives.
- Establish and manage performance review processes that support employee accountability, development and improved team performance.
- Support workplace negotiations and liaise with employees, representatives and unions regarding remuneration, workplace conditions and employment matters.
- Work with the WHS team and senior management to promote a safe, inclusive and respectful workplace.
- Maintain accurate employee records, employment documentation and HR reporting.
Requirements:
- Qualifications in Human Resources, Employment Relations, Business or a related discipline.
- 2-3 years of HR experience, with strong generalist HR exposure.
- Strong knowledge of Australian employment legislation, the Fair Work Act, Modern Awards and workplace relations.
- Previous experience working within the construction, building, engineering or related industry.
- Strong communication, negotiation and stakeholder management skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and the ability to handle confidential information professionally.
- Commercially minded with strong problem solving skills.
- Comfortable working in a fast paced, project driven environment.
