About the role

Felix & Co Accounting is a growing Australian accounting firm providing tax, compliance and business advisory services to small and medium-sized businesses. Due to continued growth and a solid pipeline of new business clients, we are seeking an experienced Tax & Business Services Manager to work directly with our Directors and take ownership of the day-to-day management and review of a portfolio of clients. This is a work-from-home contractor role offering flexibility and the opportunity to grow with the firm.

Key responsibilities
Review financial statements and tax returns for companies, trusts, partnerships and individuals
Review SMSF financial statements and tax returns
Review BAS and other compliance work as required
Review work prepared by accountants before it reaches the Directors
Manage client queries and provide practical tax and business services advice
Liaise directly with clients on tax and compliance matters
Manage jobs through the workflow and ensure deadlines are met
Follow up outstanding client information




Identify tax planning and advisory prospects
Identify out-of-scope work and ensure additional services are appropriately scoped and billed

About you
Strong Australian public practice experience in tax and business services
Experience at Senior Accountant, Supervisor or Manager level
Strong knowledge of Australian taxation
Experience reviewing financial statements and tax returns for companies, trusts, individuals and SMSFs
Confidence dealing directly with business clients
Robust review and problem-solving skills
Ability to manage client work and deadlines independently
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Experience with Xero and cloud-based accounting systems
CA or CPA qualification, or equivalent experience
