Overview:

A quantitative energy analytics and modelling boutique is growing its WEM team, with international market work already on the table.

This is real exposure beyond the NEM, not just a line on the website, working on market modelling and commercial advisory that shapes how clients invest and operate.

The role starts remote while the firm builds its Australian presence.

Responsibilities:
Build and run electricity market models, or translate their outputs into commercial insight, depending on your profile
Develop and test scenario inputs, assumptions and model logic for technical builds
Analyse and validate model outputs for accuracy and commercial relevance
Work across the WEM and international markets as the team's scope expands
Support client engagements with technical or commercial input as relevant
Communicate findings clearly to clients, investors and internal stakeholders




Contribute to the team as it scales up its market modelling capability
Help shape modelling and advisory processes as the Australian presence grows

Required Experience:
Hands on PLEXOS or equivalent market modelling experience
WEM experience needed
Solid quant and programming background
Comfortable owning the technical build, not just interpreting outputs
Solid at turning outputs into commercial and investment insight clients actually act on
1 to 2+ years experience considered for technical modelling profiles
5+ years experience at principal or senior consultant level considered for commercial profiles

Qualifications:
Degree in engineering, mathematics, economics, quantitative finance or a related field
Postgraduate qualifications in a relevant field considered favourably
