Senior Management Accountant

We are seeking aSenior Management Accountantto join a high-performing finance team within a large and complex public-sector organisation.
This is an opportunity to step into a strategic finance role where you'll work closely with senior leaders, provide trusted financial advice, and help shape sound financial decision-making across a diverse organisation.
The Opportunity
As a Senior Management Accountant, you will play a key role infinancial planning, budgeting, reporting and business analysis, partnering with stakeholders to support effective financial management and organisational performance.
Depending on your area of focus, the role may have responsibility acrossoperating budgets, capital budgets, long-term financial modelling and costing analysis — or a combination of these areas.
You'll work closely with management and finance leadership to provide meaningful insights, challenge assumptions and translate financial information into practical business decisions.
What you'll be doing
Coordinate and contribute to theannual budgeting and budget review process, including preparation of submissions for senior leadership.
Provide high-level financial advice onbudget allocations, financial performance, job costing and long-term financial modelling.
Produce and analysemonthly financial performance reports, identifying trends, variances and opportunities for improvement.
Partner with business areas to understand their operations,



financial requirements and performance drivers.
Provide accounting and business analysis support across directorates, branches and management teams.
Develop and maintain processes to monitor the financial performance ofoperational and capital projects.
Contribute to the development and improvement of financial policies, procedures and processes.
Build strong relationships with stakeholders and provide clear, commercially focused financial advice.
What we're looking for
We're looking for an experienced finance professional who can combine strong technical accounting capability withcommercial thinking, stakeholder management and business partnering skills.
You'll ideally bring:
Atertiary qualification in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline.
At least5 years' experience in a Management Accountant role within a large organisation.
Demonstrated experience preparing financial reports in accordance with relevant accounting standards.
Strong capability infinancial analysis, budgeting, forecasting and providing high-level financial advice.
Experience working with integrated financial systems, databases and advanced spreadsheet applications.
Highly developed communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage confidently with stakeholders at all levels.




A collaborative approach and the ability to influence, consult and build strong working relationships.
A currentC class driver's licence.
Membership of a relevant professional accounting association will be highly regarded.
