About the Role
n
We are seeking a motivated Junior Estimator & Mechanical Engineer to join our team based at our Oxley workshop.
n
This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to develop their engineering career while gaining hands-on experience in estimating, project preparation and manufacturing. You will work closely with our workshop team, suppliers and customers to prepare accurate quotations and support the successful delivery of engineering projects.

Key Responsibilities
n

Review customer enquiries, specifications and engineering drawings to prepare detailed quotations and cost estimates.
n
Analyse labour, materials, machining requirements and production times.
n
Work closely with the workshop team to develop practical manufacturing solutions.
n
Build and maintain relationships with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain competitive pricing.
n
Monitor job profitability and report to management.
n
Order materials and components for production.
n
Prepare job packs and supporting documentation for the workshop.
n
Assist with continuous improvement of estimating and quotation processes.
n

About You
n
You will ideally have:
n
n
A degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
n
At least 1 year of experience in a similar engineering or estimating role.
n
Strong analytical skills and the ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications.
n
Excellent organisational and problem-solving skills.
n
The ability to prioritise tasks and work effectively under pressure.
n
A proactive attitude and willingness to learn.
n
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Word and Excel (experience with OPTO ERP is an advantage).
