Job Description
Applied Physics Specialist (AI Training)
n
About The Role
n
What if your years of physics expertise could directly shape how AI understands the physical world? We're looking for PhD-level Applied Physicists to probe the limits of cutting-edge AI models — designing problems that expose where these systems break down, and providing the rigorous feedback needed to fix them.
n
This is a fully remote, versatile contract role. No prior AI experience needed — just deep mastery of physics and the ability to communicate complex ideas with precision.

n
What You'll Do
n
n
Design advanced, open-ended physics problems at PhD qualifying exam level — requiring multi-step reasoning and rigorous mathematical derivation
n
Author comprehensive "golden" solutions with flawless step-by-step logic, precise constants, and accurate unit conversions
n
Audit AI-generated simulations, proofs, and explanations for physical consistency — identifying where models "hallucinate" violations of first principles
n
Provide structured, expert feedback to improve AI reasoning around boundary conditions, conservation laws, and physical constraints
n
Work independently and asynchronously — fully on your own schedule
n
n
Who You Are
n
n
PhD completed or in final stages in Applied Physics, Physics, Engineering Physics,
or a closely related field
n
Deep mastery across the core pillars of physics: Classical Mechanics, Electrodynamics, Statistical Mechanics, and Quantum Mechanics
n
Exceptional ability to explain complex physical phenomena and mathematical derivations in clear, structured English
n
Uncompromising eye for detail — units, scientific notation, dimensional analysis, and logical proof structure
n
Self-motivated and consistent when working independently
n
No prior AI or tech experience required
n
n
Nice to Have
n
n
Experience with data annotation, scientific dataset evaluation, or quality assurance for research outputs
n
Proficiency with tools such as MATLAB, COMSOL, Python (NumPy/SciPy), or similar
n
Background in research, academia, or applied engineering environments
n
Familiarity with AI tools or language model evaluation as an end user
