The role
RSL Queensland works alongside more than 230 Sub Branches across the state, supporting the volunteers who serve their local veteran communities.
As an Engagement Officer, you'll strengthen relationships between District Offices and Sub Branches, helping volunteer‐led organisations access the guidance, resources and support they need to thrive and better serve veterans and their families.
What you'll do
Build trusted relationships with Sub Branches, District Offices and community stakeholders
Support volunteer committees with governance, planning and sustainability initiatives
Promote veteran‐focused programs, services and community activities
Assist Sub Branches to navigate operational and organisational challenges
Support regulatory and reporting requirements, including ACNC obligations
This is a permanent full-time role based at our Sunshine Coast District Office in Maroochydore.
Regular travel throughout the region is required, along with occasional after‐hours commitments.
About you
You're a relationship‐focused skilled who enjoys building partnerships, solving problems and working collaboratively with diverse groups of people.
We strongly encourage applications from veterans, current or former Reservists, Defence partners, and people connected to the Defence community, as well as professionals from stakeholder engagement, community development, local government, membership organisations and the not‐for‐profit sector.
To succeed in this role, you'll bring:
ADF service, experience working with Defence personnel, or a strong understanding of the veteran community
Strong stakeholder engagement, communication and relationship‐building skills
Experience working independently and managing competing priorities
The ability to support volunteers and navigate complex stakeholder environments
Confidence working with reports, budgets and Microsoft Office programs
A current Driver Licence and Working with Children Card (or ability to obtain one)
Flexibility to travel and occasionally work outside standard business hours
