We are seeking a highly capable Senior Payroll Officer to join our team on a short-term contract basis to provide temporary cover during a busy period.

About the Role
Reporting to the Payroll Manager, you will play a key role in ensuring the accurate and timely processing of payroll while providing guidance and support to a team of Payroll Officers.
Working within a fast-paced environment, you will utilise your payroll expertise to resolve complex payroll matters and ensure compliance with relevant legislation, awards and enterprise agreements.
Key Responsibilities
Process end-to-end payroll accurately and within strict deadlines
Provide day-to-day supervision and support to Payroll Officers
Investigate and resolve payroll queries and discrepancies.
Interpret and apply industrial awards, enterprise agreements and payroll legislation
Ensure payroll compliance and maintain accurate employee records.
Assist with payroll reporting, reconciliations and continuous improvement initiatives
Support payroll projects and system enhancements as required




About You
To be successful in this role, you will possess:
Demonstrated experience in payroll processing
Previous experience supervising or leading Payroll Officers
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy
Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise competing deadlines
Outstanding written and verbal communication skills
Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook
Sound experience interpreting industrial awards, enterprise agreements and payroll-related legislation
The following will be highly regarded:
Experience using Dayforce payroll systems is ideal
